April 14, 2018 - When one Neptune Beach Elementary parent saw the positive effect a music program was having on her son Dante, who has Down Syndrome, she approached school leaders about adding another program – music therapy.
Through the program, students in special needs classes are working with a board-certified music therapist as he gathers data and documents their progress.
Whether it’s through singing songs or playing instruments, leaders say students are making strides in their communication, confidence and ability to complete tasks.
